Shipping activity remained brisk at the Port where five ships SM New York, CMA CGM Almaviva, Poavosa Brave, YM Miranda and LNG LusaiAPPEND carrying Containers, Coal Chemicals and LNG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile, three more ships CMA CGM Georgia, Hugo Schulte and NCC Noor carrying containers and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
A total of ten ships SM New Yark, CMA CGM Almaviva, Poavosa Brave, Hong Harvest, African Avocet, Alister Bay, Alora, YM Miranda, LNG Lusail and Meltemi are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, General cargo, Coal, Soya been, Chemicals, LNG and Mogas/Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo during last 24 hours stood at 182,732 tonnes, comprising 151,470 tonnes import cargo and 31,262 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,757 containers (TEUs) (12,72 TEUs imports and 1,485 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.
Container vessel, SM New Yark sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while five more ships CMA CGM Almaviva, Hong Harvest, African Avocet, Alister Bay and Alora are expected to sail on the same day in the afternoon.
A total of seven ships CMA CGM Georgia, Hugo Schulte, Magda P, Big Fuji, TN Sunrise, NCC Noor and LNG Ogun scheduled to load/offload Containers, Cement, Soya been seeds, Coal, Palm Oil and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-2 FAP, PIBT, LCT and PGPCL respectively on Friday while three more Containers ships CMA CGM Amazon, libra and Nicoline Maersk are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, 4th August-2018.
